John Gant Suffers Abdominal Strain On Monday
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher John Gant (abdomen) was removed from Monday's start against the New York Yankees after suffering a lower abdominal strain. He only lasted three batters and 12 pitches before he was taken out and replaced by Luke Farrell. The 29-year-old veteran has made 12 appearances (five starts) with the Twins since being acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals. Over those 12 appearances, he has a 4.73 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP. It sounds as if a stint on the injured list is somewhat likely. If that indeed ends up being the case, Gant may not pitch for the Twins again this year.
