Ryan Mountcastle Ties O's Rookie Home Run Record Sunday
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman/outfielder Ryan Mountcastle joined some elite company in Sunday's 22-7 loss to the Blue Jays, going 2-for-5 with a single, a solo home run, and a strikeout. The third-inning bomb was Mountcastle's 28th HR of the season and tied Cal Ripken Jr.'s record for the most HR hit by an O's rookie. The 24-year-old has been a huge fantasy asset after some early-season struggles and is now slashing .264/.316/.498 with 79 RBI. He is pushing to win AL Rookie of the Year and has helped plenty of fantasy teams make the playoffs. If he has helped out to this point, there is no reason to stop playing Mountcastle in your fantasy lineups now.
