Giants Defense Allows 27 Points In Loss To Denver
3 years agoThe New York Giants defense allowed 27 points and 429 yards of total offense in Sunday's 27-13 Week 1 loss to the Denver Broncos. The Giants' defense racked up two sacks and six tackles for losses on Sunday. New York could not stop the run as they surrendered 165 yards on the ground, including a 70-yard rushing touchdown to Broncos running back Melvin Gordon in the fourth quarter. The Giants D/ST will look to rebound on Thursday against the Washington Football Team. Washington's QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (hip) is dealing with a right hip injury and will most likely miss Thursday's game. Taylor Heinicke is expected to start if Fitzpatrick can't suit up. Thursday's contest between the two teams is scheduled to be a low-scoring affair, and the Giants can be used as a streamer in Week 2.
