Jameis Winston (QB, NO) - Week 2 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: I don't think Jameis Winston will ever get old. This man just keeps finding ways to put up ridiculous performances no matter the team he plays for, the opponent, or anything you want to throw his way. The Saints set up a battle between Winston and tight-end-turned-quarterback Taysom Hill this offseason and, obviously, Winston won it to get the starting nod for the Saints. And it doesn't look like he will be surrendering any time soon, folks.

Winston demolished Green Bay's defense to the tune of 5 passing TDs, the most of any quarterback playing in W1 pending MNF. That's borderline insane as is, but considering the context of Winston's game it's even better: Jameis threw only 20 passes, completed 14 of them, and reached a measly 148 yards through the air. That's to say he threw a passing touchdown every three-or-fewer completions (2.8) and every 4 attempts. Not happy with that, Winston added 37 yards on the ground on six rushing attempts.

It's impossible to think about Winston as a perennial and steady QB1 performer on a full season. We all know that. He can have this sort of 5:0 TD:INT game, yes, but he can also close the day at 1:4 and we wouldn't bat an eye. If Winston can keep doing something similar to this going forward, and considering the ridiculous thin receivers he has to go with, he'll be a fantastic QB1 for most fantasy GMs and a must-have in 2QB/Superflex squads as a weekly starter.
