Saquon Barkley Medically Cleared, Set To Return Week 1
3 years agoNew York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (knee) has been medically cleared and is expected to play in the regular-season opener against the Denver Broncos. He logged limited practices throughout the week and is questionable for Sunday's game. The 24-year-old had no setbacks and is expected to return for the first time since tearing his ACL and MCL back in Week 2 of the 2020 season. The Giants will be cautious with their star running back and will ease him back into action. Barkley is expected to see a limited workload in his first game back. The No.2 pick of the 2018 NFL Draft gets a plus matchup against the Broncos, who allowed 130 rushing yards per game and were 25th in DVOA against the run last season. Despite the possible limited workload, fantasy managers should be starting Barkley in all league formats.
