3 years agoNew York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (knee) has been medically cleared and is expected to play in the regular-season opener against the Denver Broncos. He logged limited practices throughout the week and is questionable for Sunday's game. The 24-year-old had no setbacks and is expected to return for the first time since tearing his ACL and MCL back in Week 2 of the 2020 season. The Giants will be cautious with their star running back and will ease him back into action. Barkley is expected to see a limited workload in his first game back. The No.2 pick of the 2018 NFL Draft gets a plus matchup against the Broncos, who allowed 130 rushing yards per game and were 25th in DVOA against the run last season.
