Tre'Quan Smith Sits Out Thursday's Practice With Hamstring Injury
3 years agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (hamstring) logged a DNP on Thursday's practice report. This is particularly discouraging, considering that Smith wasn't listed on Wednesday's report. The UCF product has been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury since the start of training camp- so he's clearly having trouble managing the ailment, which has him trending towards a Week 1 absence. If Smith indeed misses the contest against the Packers, preseason standout Marquez Callaway could net double-digit targets as the team's number-one wideout, making him a strong WR3 with upside for more. Targets could trickle down to fellow receivers Deonte Harris and Lil'Jordan Humphrey- as well as tight end Adam Trautman. Above all, the Saints may need to lean on Alvin Kamara even more, giving him overall RB1 upside.
