3 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is not a strong starting option in fantasy lineups for Week 1 despite an excellent matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons defense was 27th against opposing tight ends last season, but with more receiving options available on offense and Dallas Goedert clearly ahead of him on the depth chart at tight end, Ertz might not be on the field nearly as often as he's been throughout his career. Ertz ended last season as the overall TE32 and was rumored to be available in trades this offseason, but the Eagles found no takers. Ertz is likely to lower the floor and ceiling of Goedert without providing much of a floor or a ceiling for himself. He should only be rostered in deeper formats and does not need to be in any Week 1 starting lineups.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
