Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Reaches 40-HR Plateau
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. became the second player in the majors this season to reach the 40-HR mark during the team's 8-0 win over the Yankees on Monday. He went back-to-back off Jameson Taillon with Marcus Semien in the first inning to the opposite field for a solo shot, and later added two singles to finish the day going 3-for-5. Although he's slowed down a bit in the second half, it's been an incredible season for the 22-year-old who is hitting .321 with 105 runs and 98 RBI in 135 games. Managers can expect Guerrero to keep building on his already terrific counting stats the rest of the way.
