Jordan Montgomery Fans Five In No-Decision
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery didn't make it to the fifth inning in a no-decision against the Orioles Saturday. Montgomery pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing one run on six hits while issuing two walks. He struck out five batters, generating 11 swinging strikes in the process. Montgomery threw 97 pitches, his highest total since returning from the COVID-19 injured list, though he wasn't very efficient, failing to make it five innings for the second time since August. Montgomery has been solid this year, with a 3.47 ERA and 1.21 WHIP, but he'll face a tough matchup in his next time out against the Blue Jays.
