Falcons Sign Wayne Gallman II
3 years agoFree-agent running back Wayne Gallman II signed with the Atlanta Falcons Thursday. The team also released former fifth-round pick Qadree Ollison, who was expected to fill the backup role behind Mike Davis. Entering his fifth season, Gallman enjoyed a career year last season after the Saquon Barkley injury, totaling 147 carries for 682 rushing yards and six touchdowns while adding 21 catches for 114 receiving yards. The Clemson product figures to operate in a running back committee with Davis and Cordarrelle Patterson, though Davis should still lead the backfield in touches. He remains in the RB2/flex conversation, but Gallman will get a chance to carve out a role.
