Justus Sheffield Activated, Earns Win In Relief
3 years agoSeattle Mariners pitcher Justus Sheffield (forearm) was activated from the 10-day injured list on Wednesday. He went on to appear in the team's game against the Houston Astros on Wednesday, making his first relief outing of the year. He pitched a scoreless sixth inning, allowing one hit and no walks without striking anyone out. He also earned the win, improving his record to 6-8 on the year. Sheffield was sidelined for nearly two months due to a left forearm strain. It's been a rough year for him as he's posted a 6.39 ERA and a 1.77 WHIP over 16 games (15 starts). It's unclear at this point if he'll remain in the bullpen or join the rotation again. Either way, he can be left on waivers in all fantasy leagues.
