3 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates placed second baseman Michael Chavis (elbow) on the 10-day injured list due to a right elbow strain on Tuesday. Infielder Hoy Park was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Chavis suffered the injury during this past Saturday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals when he attempted to make a diving catch in right field. Chavis was traded to the Pirates prior to the trade deadline. He has only appeared in six games with the team, but has performed well, slashing .364/.364/.591 with a home run and two doubles.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
