Gleyber Torres Transferred To Triple-A Scranton
3 years agoThe New York Yankees transferred shortstop Gleyber Torres (thumb) from Double-A Somerset to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday. He is currently on a rehab assignment due to a left thumb strain that has kept him out since August 8. However, he is nearing a return to the team and could be back in the majors later this week. Tyler Wade and Andrew Velazquez have been the team's primary shortstops lately, but both should see a big decrease in playing time upon Torres' return. Over 99 games on the year, Torres has slashed .253/.328/.351 with six home runs, 12 stolen bases, 42 RBI and 35 runs.
