4 years agoChicago Bears wide receiver Dazz Newsome was waived by the team on Tuesday. The sixth-round rookie not making the Week 1 roster is a surprise despite reports that the team will try and sign him to the practice roster. Newsome enjoyed a solid offseason but broke his collarbone at the end of mini-camp and was behind schedule during training camp. Newsome must clear waivers before the Bears can bring him back and questions remain on the Bears special teams as to who will be returning punts against the Rams on September 12.--Joey C - RotoBaller

3 years agoFree-agent wide receiver Dazz Newsome had a workout with the Tennessee Titans on Friday. The former sixth-round pick wasn't able to make much noise last season. He suffered a broken collarbone and ended up only playing in three games for the Chicago Bears. The 23-year-old does have some potential, so it wouldn't be shocking to see some team give him a shot. Newsome is likely to be buried on the depth chart or end up on the practice squad, assuming he lands a spot on an NFL roster. He's not expected to have fantasy value right away, but could be an interesting development project for a team.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
