3 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Raimel Tapia (toe) is nearing a return to the team, according to Rockies manager Bud Black. Black stated that Tapia could join the team as soon as Monday, August 30 as long as his rehab games all go well this weekend. Tapia has been out since August 8 due to a right big toe strain. Connor Joe has filled in as the team's everyday leadoff hitter in Tapia's absence. It will be interesting to see how the team handles both Tapia and Joe going forward as Joe has put together a fantastic month of August, slashing .295/.383/.564 with six home runs and 14 runs scored. Tapia will likely return to being the team's primary leadoff hitter, but Joe should continue to see at least semi-regular playing time and some leadoff opportunities as well.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
