Welcome to another edition of our daily fantasy baseball streamers! Are you playing in leagues with daily moves and looking to beef up those rosters? We here at RotoBaller are there for you and all of your streaming needs. Whether you are just trying to get that elusive category win or you are trying to make up for a horrible start by Jameson Taillon last night, we can help. Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best streaming options to consider in both shallow and deep fantasy baseball daily leagues. Streaming hitters and pitchers to exploit matchups are important to help you win your league.
It is important to know your league if you're going to stream. I'm not just talking about which teams your leaguemates root for. I'm talking about whether strikeouts count against you for hitters or if fielding stats are included. Most importantly, you need to know how many transactions you have per week. You don't want to blow your allotment within a couple of days. You can also use these recommendations to help build your DFS lineups. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from ESPN leagues.
We have six pitchers going that are rostered in more than 90% of ESPN leagues. Five more are owned in more than half of leagues. That leaves us with a populated pond to fish from, but there are a lot of boots and tires in this pond. Let's try to pull out a keeper!

Hitter Streamers for 8/27 - Shallow Leagues
Anthony Santander (OF, SHB, BAL) - 48% Rostered
Matchup: vs. TB LHP Shane McClanahan
Santander is hitting .476 with four homers, eight runs scored, and six RBI in his last five games. McClanahan presents a challenge here, but the Rays seem to be limiting his pitches anyway. Santander should get at least two at-bats against the bullpen. I don't think his heater is done yet. Pick him up for the weekend, especially at home in Baltimore.
Myles Straw (OF, RHB, CLE) - 42.9% Rostered
Matchup: vs. BOS LHP Eduardo Rodriguez
Straw has only been held hitless once since August 16. He has four RBI and a steal since then along with eight runs scored. He even hit a home run last night! Straw is settling in nicely as the leadoff hitter for Cleveland. E-Rod got absolutely clobbered by a bad Texas team his last time out. He had been pretty solid before that, but his propensity for the occasional blowup, often against below average teams, makes Straw worth a look.
Nate Lowe (1B, LHB, TEX) - 32.1% Rostered
Matchup: vs. HOU RHP Jake Odorizzi
Lowe has been one of the few bright spots for Texas of late. He is hitting .455 with a homer, four RBI, and six runs scored in the last week. Odorizzi has allowed 12 runs in 19 August innings, so there's a chance that the Texas offense can keep up the progress they made last week, Lowe in particular.
Daulton Varsho (C/OF, LHB, ARI) - 30.2% Rostered
Matchup: at PHI RHP Aaron Nola
Varsho has three homers, six RBI, and five runs scored in the last week of action. Something to note is that Arizona has started him in every game in that span. This is a tough matchup against Nola, but Nola has allowed 21 homers this year. With the power that Varsho is showing right now, I have no issues subbing him in for a struggling catcher, even against a pitcher like Nola.
Hitter Streamers for 8/27 - Deeper Leagues
Frank Schwindel (1B, RHB, CHC) - 20.7% Rostered
Matchup: at CWS LHP Dallas Keuchel
Since taking over full-time for Anthony Rizzo on August 1, Schwindel is hitting .372 with four homers, 13 runs scored, and 16 RBI. He saw his hitting streak come to an end against the Royals, but Schwindel still has hits in each of the last four games and has three of those homers and 12 of the RBI in the last 12 games. The counting stats are suffering because of the struggling offense around him, but Schwindel is just hitting well enough to keep in our lineup for the average boost and the four runs scored in the last three games.
Connor Joe (OF, RHB, COL) - 16.9% Rostered
Matchup: at LAD RHP Andre Jackson
This is essentially a bullpen game for the Dodgers, but they still have a solid bullpen. The general rule is to not use Rockies players on the road, but Joe is 4-for-10 with a homer, five RBI, and three runs scored so far on the current road trip. He's leading off for an offense that has improved on the road over the last couple of weeks. Joe has picked up eight RBI in the last week. He's worth using until he cools off.
Jake Meyers (OF, RHB, HOU) - 9.7% Rostered
Matchup: at TEX RHP Glenn Otto
Even though Kyle Tucker is back in the lineup, the Astros have kept the hot-hitting Meyers in there. He is hitting .300 with a homer, seven RBI, and three runs in the last week. It looks as though Houston will keep Meyers in there until he cools off. We should follow their lead.
Brandon Marsh (OF, RHB, LAA) - 5.6% Rostered
Matchup: vs. SD RHP Joe Musgrove
Unless you have been under a rock for the last two years or so, you know how highly touted of a prospect Marsh is. His beginning in the major leagues left much to be desired, but Marsh is starting to figure things out. He is hitting .478 with a homer, five runs scored, and a staggering 10 RBI in just the last week alone! At this point, Marsh is known more for his speed, but that RBI total is what really has me interested.
Pitcher Streamers for 8/27 - Shallow Leagues
J.A. Happ (LHP, STL) - 19% rostered
Matchup: at Pittsburgh
It was somewhere around the end of April that I swore off Happ in DFS permanently. I stuck to it until his last start, also against the Pirates. The truth is the veteran junkballer has found the (junk) Fountain of Youth in St. Louis. The 38-year-old is 2-0 with a 1.99 ERA in four starts for the Cardinals. Two of those have come against the Pirates. In those two starts, Happ only allowed three runs in 12 innings with 13 strikeouts. This is a streamer's dream come true.
Kyle Freeland (LHP, COL) - 19% rostered
Matchup: at Dodgers
You have to have some serious cojones to roll a guy like Freeland out against the Dodgers, regardless of venue. However, despite dropping both starts to the Dodgers this year, Freeland has only allowed four runs in 13 innings with 10 strikeouts. One of those starts was in Coors. Freeland only allowed one run in seven innings against the Dodgers in L.A. on July 26 with six strikeouts. Win or lose, that will at the very least help your ratios out.
Pitcher Streamers for 8/27 - Deeper Leagues
Eric Lauer (LHP, MIL) - 17.4% rostered
Matchup: at Minnesota
The Twins are hitting just a buck-ninety-six against lefties in the month of August with only five homers and 58 strikeouts in 194 at bats. Lefty masher Nelson Cruz is in Tampa and the rest of the team has been awful against southpaws since his departure. There's a lot of potential for Lauer in this matchup. At the very least, he will help your ratios. Chances are he's going to get a handful of strikeouts and a win as well.
