Hyun-Jin Ryu Lit Up By White Sox
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu was touched up for seven runs over 3 2/3 IP versus the White Sox on Thursday as his club went on to a 10-7 loss. The left-hander gave up three home runs on his seven hits while walking one and striking out four in the abbreviated outing, dropping his record to 12-7 on the campaign. It's been a rough month of August for Ryu who has pitched to a 6.51 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in five starts as he's now up over the 140 IP plateau for just the second time since 2014. Durability may be to blame for his second half struggles, but he'll have a chance to rebound next week versus the Orioles.
