It was a hugely disappointing end to an otherwise successful week for Shane Lowry at Augusta National. He was in the mix all week before shooting 81 in the final round, losing -5.71 strokes from tee to green. It was Lowry's worst finish since January, but he certainly played much better than the finish reflects. The approach play has been the leading part of his game all season, and one bad round shouldn't be enough to sway public opinion. He'll be a hot commodity at a ball-striker-centric course like Harbour Town at $10,800 on FanDuel.

It has been a great start to the season for Shane Lowry as he makes his way to Augusta this week. He's racked up one top-5, two top-10s, and two top-20s in seven starts. He ranks sixth on the season in strokes gained on approach (+0.912), and 24th in strokes gained around the green (+0.295). Putting has been the lone worry, as he's only managed to gain strokes on the greens in two events. However, it isn't like that part of his game is completely taking him out of tournaments, but it's impacting his ability to close out tournaments down the stretch. It seems like a far stretch to be confident in Lowry's ability to slip on the green jacket this week, but his long-iron ability and superb bogey-avoidance skills should make him a valuable asset in DFS lineups.

After recording a T20 finish at The PLAYERS, Shane Lowry has now posted four top-20 finishes in his last five events. He looks to continue this strong form into the Valspar Championship, an event he has competed in twice, with results of T49 in 2018 and T12 in 2022. To succeed at Copperhead, players will need to be precise from tee to green and sharp with their short game. Lowry ranks seventh on tour in strokes gained from tee to green (1.294 per round), seventh on approach (0.925), 26th around the green (0.336), and 73rd in putting (0.147). He is also strong in other key areas, including 63rd in driving accuracy, 49th in bogey avoidance, and 27th in scrambling. Additionally, he ranks in the 92nd percentile for proximity from 150-200 yards over the past 12 months, a range that accounted for 37% of all approach shots here last year. Lowry is well worth his price tag of $9,400 on DraftKings.

Shane Lowry keeps getting lots of positive press heading into the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week. The Irish golfer likes long but tough golf courses. Bay Hill is almost 7,500 yards in length and has some nasty rough. In breezy conditions, the course can play several strokes above average. The 2019 Open Championship winner only has three PGA Tour wins in his career. However, Lowry figured out something last year at the course and finished third. At PGA National, the golfer almost snagged a Top 10 (T-11) and gained five strokes on approach (5.04) over the weekend. The concern is can he put at least three such rounds together. If he comes close, Lowry can contend and maybe surprise the signature field at Bay Hill.
