Carlos Hyde's Stock On The Rise
3 years agoJacksonville Jaguars running back Carlos Hyde could have a bigger role this season with rookie Travis Etienne (foot) suffering an unfortunate season-ending injury. On Monday night against the Saints, Etienne was diagnosed with a significant mid-foot tear. He will be sidelined for a minimum of 12 weeks, if not the entire 2021 season, per Ian Rapoport. Hyde is second in the depth chart with Etienne out, and he is rostered in less than 50% of leagues on the Sleeper app and less than 1% in ESPN leagues. If he is still on the waiver wire, fantasy football managers should consider adding him to their team, especially if you own James Robinson. Hyde will likely see usage in short-yardage and red-zone situations. However, in the 10 games he played last season, he was featured in less than 70% of the offensive snaps per game and found the end zone four times. In deeper leagues, Hyde should definitely be on the radar for fantasy managers.
