3 years agoNew York Yankees third baseman Gio Urshela (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with the Double-A Somerset Patriots on Sunday and is expected to start at third base, the team announced on Twitter. Urshela landed on the injured list at the beginning of the month with a hamstring strain, and had suffered a setback in his rehab almost two weeks ago. Over 84 games this season, Urshela is slashing .274/.315/.439 with 11 homers, one steal, 41 RBI and 32 runs scored. It's unclear just how long Urshela will be on this rehab assignment, but it's plausible he could return before the end of the month.--Michael
