Trinity Benson Worth Keeping An Eye On?
3 years agoDenver Broncos wide receiver Trinity Benson, an undrafted pass-catcher out of East Carolina, caught all four of his targets for 36 yards and two touchdowns in the preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings last Saturday. Benson was playing against Minnesota's backups, and Denver's starting wideouts played sparingly, with Courtland Sutton (knee) sitting out entirely. The 24-year-old has yet to play in an NFL game since entering the league in 2019. It was a nice showing in the first preseason game, but Benson will need to show more on special teams in order to secure a roster spot in 2021 in a crowded receiver room that includes Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, K.J. Hamler, Tim Patrick, Diontae Spencer and Tyrie Cleveland. Most likely, Benson will be ticketed for the practice squad.
