Tanner Houck Optioned, But Should Remain In Rotation
3 years agoThe Boston Red Sox optioned starting pitcher Tanner Houck to Triple-A on Tuesday. Houck pitched the first game of the team's doubleheader against the New York Yankees earlier on Tuesday. He went four innings in the start, allowing five hits, no walks and two earned runs while striking out two. He was used as the team's 27th man in the doubleheader and because of that, he can be recalled by the team at any point. Houck should remain in the team's rotation and make his next start on Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins. Houck has made nine appearances (seven starts) with the Red Sox this year and has gone 0-3 with a 3.12 ERA, a 1.15 WHIP and a 31.9% strikeout rate.
