Justin Jackson Suffers Groin Injury
3 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Justin Jackson suffered a groin injury in Saturday's preseason opener versus the Los Angeles Rams. Jackson saw 10 snaps on the evening and struggled on the ground with five carries for 13 yards. He also caught his lone target for nine yards. Jackson is competing with second-year running back Joshua Kelley and rookie Larry Rountree III for the rights to backup Austin Ekeler. Jackson has the most experience of the three, but he entered camp on the COVID-19 reserve list and is now dealing with a groin injury. The veteran should still have a good chance to stick on the roster, but he will need to perform better and more importantly show that he's healthy over the rest of training camp to carve out a role behind Ekeler.
