Zach Thompson Throws Six Strong Innings On Saturday
3 years agoMiami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Zach Thompson was great in his start against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday. Thompson tossed six innings, allowing just one run on four hits. He did not issue a walk and struck out three. Thompson was cruising through a struggling Cubs lineup (even though they scored 10 runs in Friday's game) and needed only 72 pitches (48 strikes) to get through the six frames. The tall 27-year-old rookie has been very good this year, and he'll take a 2.91 ERA into his next start.
