Kyle Finnegan Takes A Loss Thursday
3 years agoWashington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan took the loss in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the New York Mets, yielding a walk-off home run to slugger Pete Alonso. Finnegan, the newly-minted closer for the Nationals, retired one batter before facing Alonso. Finnegan has largely been effective this year with a 3.18 ERA, but he does not strike out many batters, with just 47 men set down on strikes in 45 1/3 innings. He's a low-end fantasy closer going forward.
