Bailey Ober Effective In No-Decision
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober put together a solid effort despite not factoring into the decision Wednesday. Ober pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing six hits and a walk while fanning six batters. The 26-year-old generated a whopping 17 whiffs, with all of them coming on his fastball, which featured a velocity faster than his season average. Ober throws a slider and changeup along with his heater, though the latter two pitches have been hit hard this season, which has likely prevented the right-hander from taking the next step. While he's unlikely to be a factor in redraft leagues this year, Ober's strikeout upside, 25.3 percent strikeout rate, has him looking like an early sleeper for the 2022 season.
