New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor (oblique) took batting practice on Wednesday, Newsday Sports reported. This marks the first time the 27-year-old switch-hitter has taken BP since being sidelined with a Grade 2 oblique strain in mid-July. Lindor's on-field activities have accelerated in preparation for his return, although there is still no exact timetable set in place. Prior to the injury, Lindor hit .333/.489/.500 with two home runs, 10 RBI, and two stolen bases with nine runs scored on 12 hits in 12 games during the month of July.--Chelena Goldman

New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor had a big night in a 5-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday. Lindor went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer to help power the Mets to the win. He blasted his seventh homer of the season in the seventh inning, a shot that traveled 415 feet with an exit velocity of 107 MPH. Lindor is now hitting .289 with 23 runs, 22 RBI, and three steals across 142 at-bats this season. He remains one of the better shortstops in all of fantasy.--Matt T - RotoBaller

New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor had a huge game on Monday, going 2-for-3 with two homers and four RBI in a 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Lindor also walked and scored twice to round out his line. After an ice-cold start to his season, the 31-year-old has completely returned to form over the past few weeks. His season numbers look like normal Lindor numbers as well, with a .284 AVG and .840 OPS to go along with 16 runs, five homers, 13 RBI, and two swipes. He is a five-category contributor and one of the best players in fantasy.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller

New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 3-for-5 with a home run in the team's 7-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. He also struck out once and scored thrice. Lindor has typically been a slow starter, but he's wasted no time impacting the field in 2025. The 31-year-old has a hit in 16 of 18 games since starting the season 0-for-11 over New York's first three contests. He's got two homers in his last three appearances and is making consistent hard contact. On Sunday, the former first-round pick logged three hard-hit balls, all registering 102.9 MPH or above. Lindor's spot in the Mets' lineup may limit his RBI totals this season. However, he may make up for it in runs scored -- particularly with teammate Juan Soto heating up and Pete Alonso performing like one of the best hitters in baseball behind him.--Alex Ciulla

New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor announced on his Instagram on Wednesday that he will be the captain for Team Puerto Rico in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. Lindor will once again play for his home country in next year's WBC after also playing for Team Puerto Rico in 2023, when they ended up being eliminated in the quarterfinals against Mexico. The 31-year-old All-Star is one of the top fantasy shortstops in the game, although he hasn't really gotten off to an outstanding start to the 2025 campaign. The former first-rounder (eighth overall) by the Cleveland Guardians in 2011 entered Wednesday's action with just one home run and a .234/.288/.344 slash line with a .631 OPS in 16 games played. The switch-hitter should be just fine, though, and he extended his modest hitting streak to five games with one hit in Wednesday's loss to the Minnesota Twins.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
