3 years agoSan Francisco Giants' third baseman Evan Longoria (shoulder) could be activated from the 10-day injured list on Wednesday. The Giants are going to give him a chance to rest and recover from his rehab assignment. He played in four games since beginning a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento last Thursday. Longoria is set for additional rehab games, and the Giants have no reason to rush him back. The 35-year-old slashed .280/.376/.516 with nine home runs, 30 RBI, and 28 runs scored across 186 plate appearances before landing on the injured list. Once activated, Longoria could see a reduced role as newly acquired Kris Bryant is expected to handle the hot corner for the rest of the season.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
