Noah Syndergaard Likely To Be Used As Reliever
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard (elbow) will likely be used in a relief role when he's able to return to action, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. General Manager Zack Scott said of Syndergaard that, "Getting him back in September in a role where he can help the club in relief would be a good thing for us to do," as he has been out all season long while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Syndergaard had suffered a setback in his rehab back in May, and while there had been hope for fantasy managers that he could return and have an impact as a starter down the playoff stretch, his value is now just about completely shot for 2021 if this plan holds. He can be worth looking at in SV/HLD formats when he returns, but otherwise in most redraft formats he can be left on the waiver wire.
