MLB Betting Picks for Tuesday 8/10 - Terrific Tuesday!

John 'LucidMedia' Brubaker's MLB betting picks for 8/10/2021. He breaks down today's MLB slate and recommends the top wagers and bets on moneylines and more!

Happy Tuesday RotoBallers! John, aka 'LucidMedia," back with you with our free picks for Tuesday, August 8th. After a five game slate yesterday, we have a nice 17 game slate that includes two doubleheaders today. I have a few games I have my eyes on today, so let's get right to it.

I will be doing these picks for you every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday going forward this baseball season. Just to let you know, I mainly bet on FanDuel Sportsbook, and that's where the odds below will be coming from. I know not everyone is able to bet on Fanduel, so if you are betting elsewhere just make sure to shop around and find the best odds.

We have been really increasing our sports betting content at RotoBaller, and this year will be no different. Tommy Bell (@BellRoto) will be handling things over in our premium offering. Steve Janik (@stevejanik6) will be carrying the free picks on during the week throughout the season with some help from yours truly. And Kipp Heisterman (@kipppsta) brings you the Monkey Knife Fight picks. Let's make some money and have fun. but remember, please gamble responsibly! The RotoBaller team has had a great month of July on the books so far, so let's finish it out strong and make some money!

Detroit Tigers @ Baltimore Orioles

O/U: 10.5 | Moneyline: BAL +106

DET: Casey Mize | BAL: Keegan Akin

We start our day at Camden Yards where the Orioles take on the Tigers. The O's have been poor at home this year with just a 17-34 record. They send Keegan Akin out to the mound today who's been struggling of late, bringing in a 6.79 xFIP over the last month into this one. The Tigers have seen southpaws well of late, with a team wOBA + ISO of .559 against lefties over the last 30 days.

Casey Mize will take the ball for Detroit. After a rough "rookie" campaign last year in the 60-game season, Mize has picked it up this year, coming into this one with a 4.30 xFIP on the year. His home/road splits are nearly identical, as he has a 3.58 ERA on the road, compared to his 3.55 ERA at home. He pitched against the Orioles earlier this year going seven innings and allowing just one unearned run. The Tigers are 5-0 in their last five when they score at least five runs in their previous game, while the Orioles are 0-5 in their last 5 where the total is set between 9 and 10.5. Back the Tigers at a decent price.

Pick: Tigers Moneyline (-126) FanDuel Sportsbook

New York Yankees @ Kansas City Royals

O/U: 10.5 | Moneyline: KC +130

NYY: Nestor Cortes | KC: Daniel Lynch

The Yankees and Royals match up for game two of their series tonight in what should be an interesting matchup following their marathon game last evening. The Yankees blew four leads in four consecutive innings in Kansas City but managed to pull it out in the 10th inning. You know what they say, the fifth time's the charm, right? Ha. The Yankees will send Nestor Cortes to the mound tonight, who's been excellent for them this season with a 2.15 ERA coming into this one.

On the other side, Daniel Lynch takes the ball for Kansas City. Lynch has gotten roughed up early on here in his career but turned it around last Thursday with a very solid start against the White Sox. He's still got a 6.00 ERA flat coming into this one, and it's not the guy you want to be facing the Yankees right now, who have been hot. They've won 11 of 14 and are trying to make a playoff push, while the Royals season is most likely over. The Yankees have a whopping twelve moneyline trends in their favor, and I expect them to fight through their COVID issues to pull this one out. Grab the Bombers at a fair price

Picks: Yankees Moneyline (-156), FanDuel Sportsbook

Let's get after it today and start the week strong! Be sure to follow me on Twitter @LucidMediaDFS for updates and more plays!
