Anthony Rizzo Tests Positive For COVID-19
3 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo has tested positive for COVID-19, per Lindsey Adler of The Athletic. Rizzo wasn't slotted into the Yankee lineup for Sunday's game, with the initial thought being perhaps he was getting the day off, though he is the latest Yankee to test positive for the virus. The former Cub has been excellent since coming to New York at the trade deadline, going 9-for-32 with three homers and six RBI in nine games for the Yankees. Rizzo will now be forced to miss at least 10 days of action on The COVID-19 injured list. He is dealing with light symptoms, per manager Aaron Boone. Luke Voit- who is penciled into the Yankee lineup for the first time since July 11, will see the bulk of the playing time at first with Rizzo sidelined.
