Rhys Hoskins Managing Groin Injury
Rhys Hoskins (groin) is uncertain for Saturday's game against the New York Mets due to a groin injury. He missed Friday's game, and his availability for Saturday's contest is in question. The 28-year-old is considered day-to-day but could be available off the bench on Saturday. Hoskins is slashing .244/.332/.509 with 24 home runs, 68 RBI, 61 runs scored, and three stolen bases over 434 plate appearances in 2021. Fantasy managers will most likely be without the Phillies' first baseman for another day. Brad Miller will continue to handle first base duties while Hoskins is sidelined. Miller can be used as an option in NL-Only league formats after hitting .226 with 10 homers and 30 RBI over 199 at-bats in 2021.

Rhys Hoskins Launches First Home Run Of The Season
Rhys Hoskins broke out in Tuesday’ 5-0 win over the Detroit Tigers. He went 3-for-4 with a towering solo home run in the second inning, his first of the season. The 440-foot blast opened the scoring, as he later added an RBI single in the seventh to help cap off Tuesday’s win. It was a strong showing for Hoskins, who had been off to a slow start at the plate. He is now slashing .229/.345/.313 across 48 at-bats. Hoskins and the Brewers will aim to take the series in Wednesday's finale at home against Detroit.

Rhys Hoskins, Sal Frelick Sitting On Thursday
Rhys Hoskins and outfielder Sal Frelick are not in Thursday's lineup when they conclude a series against the Colorado Rockies. Fantasy managers should expect both Hoskins and Frelick to return to the lineup against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday evening. Hoskins has tallied just two hits over his previous four games and will cede first base duties to Jake Bauers, who will bat sixth. Frelick is riding a six-game hitting streak and has enjoyed a very productive start to the campaign. With Frelick sitting out, Jackson Chourio will shift to right field, opening up left field for Christian Yelich. The Brewers are a great lineup to target in DFS competitions this afternoon as they will face Colorado right-handed pitcher Ryan Feltner.

Rhys Hoskins Not In Sunday's Lineup
Rhys Hoskins is not in Sunday's lineup when the Brewers conclude their opening series against the New York Yankees. Hoskins started at first base in each of the first two games of the series and went 1-for-6 with one RBI and a 2:2 BB:K. As a result, Jake Bauers will get the nod at first base and face right-hander Marcus Stroman. Bauers has yet to receive a start this series. Across two plate appearances as a pinch-hitter, Bauers has drawn a walk and tallied a double. Fantasy managers should expect Hoskins to return to the starting nine on Monday when they face the Kansas City Royals. Bauers does have streaming appeal in this matchup facing Stroman, who allowed a high 4.31 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP across 154 2/3 innings of work last summer.

Rhys Hoskins Staying In Milwaukee
Rhys Hoskins. After missing the entire 2023 campaign with a torn ACL, Hoskins posted a modest .214/.303/.419 line in 2024 with 26 home runs, 82 RBI, and a 53:149 BB:K ratio. Hoskins has now hit at least 25 home runs in each of the past three seasons he has played in but has seen his batting average drop lower in each consecutive year as well. Under the hood, the 31-year-old posted a strong 12.7% barrel rate but with a poor 26.3% whiff rate and 28.8% K rate. Hoskins remains a depth infield option heading into 2025 with an upside for power in category leagues. His hefty strikeout rate significantly lowers his value in points leagues.
