Didi Gregorius Not Expected To Play Saturday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies shortstop Didi Gregorius (elbow) is not expected to play Saturday's game against the New York Mets due to elbow soreness. He told the team he could play the field but "couldn't hit again." The 31-year-old went 2-for-2 with a solo home run and a triple in Friday's 4-2 win over the Mets. He was replaced in the eighth inning by Luke Williams after experiencing elbow soreness. Gregorious is considered day-to-day. Ronald Torreyes will handle shortstop duties while Gregorius is out. Torreyes can be used as a streamer in deep-league formats after slashing .271/.321/,398 across 199 plate appearances in 2021.
