Saquon Barkley “Likely” Back By Week 3
3 years agoIan Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (knee) will likely be back by Week 3. "No one will rush him, no one has completely ruled out Week 1 either, " said Rapoport. The Giants will continue to take the "long-term" approach with their franchise running back as he works his way back from knee surgery. He reportedly was making a "lot of strides" while doing rehab work. The 24-year-old has not been cleared to practice, and the most likely scenario is Barkley would return somewhere between Weeks 1-3 of the regular season. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation. Still, even if Barkley misses a few games, he has the talent to finish as a top-10 running back in all league formats. Devontae Booker and newly signed Alfred Morris will handle the majority of carries out of the Giants backfield while Barkley is sidelined. Stay tuned.
