Braxton Garrett Throws Five Scoreless Innings On Thursday
3 years agoMiami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Braxton Garrett pitched well on Thursday, helping the Marlins defeat the New York Mets 4-2. Garrett threw five shutout innings, allowing five hits and four walks while striking out six. Garrett had plenty of traffic on the bases, but timely strikeouts and a double play ball helped him escape without allowing a run. He threw 94 pitches, 56 for strikes. Garrett has had a few solid starts in a row and could suddenly merit some consideration in deeper mixed leagues.
