Fernando Tatis Jr. Placed On IL Saturday
3 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday with left shoulder inflammation, the team announced on Twitter. Tatis exited Friday's game after suffering his second shoulder subluxation of the year while running on the base paths. It's the same shoulder that he injured earlier this year, which raised concerns that Tatis could see his season come to a premature close as a result of this issue. For now it appears that the team thinks he'll be able to return to action at some point, but there's no timetable for how long he'll be out. While Tatis is sidelined, expect Jake Cronenworth and Ha-Seong Kim to see regular time at shortstop, as Cronenworth will get the start there on Saturday and is batting second against the Rockies.
