Jameson Taillon Sharp In Seventh Victory
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon looked sharp in his seventh win of the season Friday against the Marlins. Taillon blanked Miami for 5 2/3 frames, allowing five hits while recording five punchouts and two walks. This wasn't one of his better outings from an underlying numbers standpoint- as he only induced nine whiffs and allowed an average exit velocity of 91.2 MPH- but he still found a way to be successful. Taillon has pitched like an ace since the calendar turned to July, recording a 1.16 ERA and 25:10 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 31 innings pitched against teams such as the Astros and Red Sox. He is lined up to face the Orioles in his next outing, giving him a great chance to keep this rolling.
