Vancouver Canucks center Filip Chytil (upper body) made an early exit against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday, leaving his status uncertain for Sunday's tilt against the Utah Hockey Club. The team has not provided any updates on Chytil, who has scored six points (two goals, four assists) in 15 games since his move to Vancouver. If Chytil is unable to play against the Blackhawks, Jonathan Lekkerimaki is likely to rejoin the lineup. Lekkerimaki has been excelling in the minors, tallying 19 goals and 28 points in 32 AHL appearances this season, but he has been quiet in the NHL so far. In 15 career NHL appearances, Lekkerimaki has recorded three points (two goals, one assist) with 22 shots.

According to Frank Seravalli of DailyFaceoff.com, the Vancouver Canucks are acquiring center Filip Chytil from the New York Rangers in return for J.T. Miller. In this trade, the Canucks also acquired Victor Mancini and a 2025 conditional first-round selection. In addition to Miller, the Canucks also shipped Erik Brannstrom and Jackson Dorrington to New York. Chytil has spent his entire NHL career with the Rangers after being selected with the 21st overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft. In 2022, Chytil tallied a career-high 45 points (22 goals, 23 helpers) across 74 games. However, the 25-year-old has struggled to stay on the ice as he has battled numerous injuries. This season, Chytil has scored 11 goals with nine assists across 41 games. He will likely spend time on the third line with his new club and will only have value in deeper formats.

New York Rangers center Filip Chytil (upper body) will not suit up for Thursday's clash against New Jersey. He left Tuesday's games against Boston with an upper-body injury and hasn't been able to practice. The injury-prone forward has contributed 10 goals and seven assists in 33 appearances this term. As a result of Chytil's injury, Arthur Kaliyev will come into the lineup for his Rangers debut on the third line. The 23-year-old, who was claimed off waivers on Jan. 6, has posted 71 points (35 goals, 36 assists) in 188 career appearances. Playing in Los Angeles, Kaliyev has shown that he can make an impact in limited minutes, but how well he adjusts to his new surroundings remains to be seen.

According to Peter Baugh of The Athletic, New York Rangers center Filip Chytil (upper body) exited Tuesday's game early with an injury. The 25-year-old did not play during the entire third period. Fantasy managers should monitor his status leading up to their next match on Tuesday evening, as Chytil has sustained several upper body injuries throughout his career. Earlier this season, he sustained one in November and missed seven games, and was placed on long-term injured reserve last season with a similar upper body injury. Chytil has begun to heat up offensively as he carried a four-game point streak into Tuesday's contest. If he were to miss time, Sam Carrick is a candidate to move up to the third line center role.
