Filip Chytil Receives Bridge Deal to Stay in New York
3 years agoFilip Chytil inked a two-year contract on Thursday with the New York Rangers. The forward will be paid an AAV of $2.3 million. Chytil had a bit of a dip in ice time and goals last season. He only played in 42 games due to injuries but did have eight goals and 22 points. This was despite playing a little over 13 minutes a night. The question over the next season or two will be this. Can Chytil finally nestle himself into a top-six role? He has the talent and the speed but fantasy-wise, there is a good deal of intrigue. There should be an increase in man-advantage time. Expect the forward to play more on left-wing again in 2021-22, and the chances he tops 15 goals could be good especially if he can stay healthy.
