Garrett Cooper Will Undergo Season-Ending Surgery
3 years agoMiami Marlins' first baseman Garrett Cooper (elbow) will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a partial UCL tear in his left elbow. The 30-year-old was placed on the 10-day injured list on July 19, and after further evaluation, needed surgery to correct the issue. Cooper finishes the 2021 campaign slashing .284/.380/.465 with nine home runs, 33 RBI, 30 runs scored, and one stolen base across 250 plate appearances. The procedure takes around 3-to-4 months to recover from, and Cooper is expected to be ready by Spring Training of 2022.
