Bryan Barberena may be in dire need of a victory more than anyone else on Saturday's card when he faces off against Gerald Meerschaert. Barberena (18-11) will be competing at middleweight for the second straight fight after fighting for most of his career at welterweight. He's on a three-fight losing streak that includes two submission losses and a decision loss to Makhmud Muradov at UFC London. DraftKings sees Barbarena as the underdog with a salary of $7,100. Throughout his UFC career (18 bouts), he averages 67.8 fantasy points per contest.

UFC 286 was not Bryan Barberena's time to rebound from a defeat, as he suffered yet another submission loss, this time to Gunnar Nelson on Saturday. In 4:51 of total action, Barberena only tallied seven significant strikes and spent 3:13 in the control time of Nelson. Nelson systematically worked his progressions on the mat against the inferior ground fighter in Barberena and eventually locked in an armbar. As long as Barberena is matched up in a striker's duel, he can go the distance or even earn victories for fantasy managers on fight nights.

Known for his relentlessness and will to win, Bryan Barberena (18-9) will have all that tested again when he faces dangerous submission ace Gunnar Nelson on Saturday. Proven to be a finisher in the cage, 11 of his 18 career wins have come by knockout/TKO, but only one of those wins have occurred since 2018. DraftKings sees Barberena as the underdog with a salary of $7,000. Throughout his UFC career (16 bouts), he averages 74.6 fantasy points per contest. Coming off of a submission loss, one has to wonder if the same fate could be in front of him against another dangerous finisher like Nelson across from him in the Octagon.

Hoping to keep the contest off the mat on Saturday, Bryan Barberena was unable to do so and took a second-round submission loss to Rafael dos Anjos, who is now in the UFC's all-time top-five wins list. Barberena did land more total strikes with 61 compared to dos Anjos' 36. The loss snaps Barberena's three-fight winning streak. A very gritty fighter, Barberena is always someone to consider when seeking an underdog for your fantasy lineups if the value is right.
