Hitter Streamers for 7/26 - Shallow Leagues
Hunter Renfroe (OF, RHB, BOS) - 46% Rostered
Matchup: vs. TOR RHP Thomas Hatch*
We have to ride with Renfroe at home against the Blue Jays, who are expected to be starting Thomas Hatch here, which would make it a bullpen game. That doesn't bode well against this slugging Red Sox lineup at Fenway, so using Renfroe is a good way to get a cheap piece of the Red Sox in an exploitable matchup. Renfroe has homered twice in his last seven games, so perhaps this can be the start of a hot streak.
Robbie Grossman (OF, SHB, DET) - 45% Rostered
Matchup: at MIN RHP Michael Pineda
Grossman came into Sunday's action slashing .250/.440/.518 with five home runs and three stolen bases in July, giving him 15 homers and 12 steals on the season. This combination of power, speed, and plate discipline means that Grossman definitely should be rostered in more leagues. Pineda has given up an xwOBA that ranks in the 31st-percentile, so this isn't a matchup to fear. Ride Grossman while he's hot.
Jorge Soler (OF, RHB, KC) - 36% Rostered
Matchup: vs. CHW LHP Dallas Keuchel
Soler has had a disappointing season so far, but we all know about how epic his power binges can be and it looks like he's on one right now. Soler has homered four times in his last five games. We need to hop on board this freight train because Soler can homer in bunches. He takes on Keuchel, who has given up five home runs in his last four starts. Soler needs to be rostered in more leagues. He can stick on your team for the long haul.
Hitter Streamers for 7/26 - Deeper Leagues
Josh Harrison (2B/3B/OF, RHB, WAS) - 23% Rostered
Matchup: at PHI RHP Spencer Howard
Harrison provides strong contact ability with positional versatility, making him a solid stream in an exploitable matchup at Citizens Bank Park against a volatile young pitcher like Howard. Harrison is slashing .310/.372/.479 with one homer and one steal in July. Howard only pitches three-to-four innings each start, so Harrison will also get an opportunity to do some damage against the Phillies' bullpen.
Hunter Dozier (1B/3B/OF, RHB, KC) - 16% Rostered
Matchup: vs. CHW LHP Dallas Keuchel
Another Royal to use against Keuchel here with Dozier, who is on fire right now, slashing .351/.441/.526 in the month of July. Like teammate Soler, Dozier is another hitter who had been underperforming and looks poised for a strong second half. If you're playing DFS and looking for a cheap stack, pair Dozier (5th) with Soler (4th) because they both hit next to each other in the Royals most recent batting order.
Jeimer Candelario (1B/3B, SHB, DET) - 15% Rostered
Matchup: at MIN RHP Michael Pineda
Candelario is another Tiger to stack against Pineda. The third baseman is slashing .303/.418/.561 with three homers in July (not including Sunday's game). He's been a streaky hitter throughout his career, so we need to continue riding the wave here. Candelario (5th) correlates nicely with Grossman (6th) because they hit right next to each other in the lineup. This is the start of a solid Tigers stack in DFS.
Pitcher Streamers for 7/26 - Shallow & Deep Leagues
Michael Pineda (RHP, MIN) - 38% Rostered
Matchup: vs. DET
I know we're stacking some Tigers, but I'm still recommending Pineda because it's a tough slate for streamers, with most of the reliable probable starters being rostered in more leagues. Pineda is coming off a strong outing against the White Sox, going five innings and allowing one run on four hits with one walk and three strikeouts. There's a decent chance that he can turn in another quality start in a good matchup at home against the Tigers. Pineda is my only pitcher streamer recommendation for Monday's slate.
