ANALYSIS: Though he's a prime candidate to be dealt ahead of next weekend's trade deadline, Joakim Soria is the clear top dog in the Arizona bullpen right now. That makes it surprising to see him languishing on the waiver wire in over two-thirds of leagues despite a recent surge in his rostered rate.
The veteran has locked down all six of the Diamondbacks' save opportunities in July, with half of those coming in the last week. It's doubtful that he will get save chances with whatever playoff hopeful he winds up with after the dust settles, but managers in need of a boost in the category could do worse than Soria in the short term.
