Shed Long Jr. Steals First Base Of Season
Shed Long Jr. reached base twice against the Oakland Athletics Friday, going 0-for-2 with two walks, and he took advantage by swiping his first base of the season. Long Jr. was expected to provide a bit of speed and a bit of pop, but it's taken him 108 plate appearances this year to get on the board in the speed department. With just four homers and a .601 OPS on the year, Long Jr. should not be on fantasy rosters.

Shed Long Jr. Among Players Outrighted Off Mariners Roster
Shed Long Jr. (shin) was one of a number of players outrighted off the 40-man roster Friday. Utility man Sam Haggerty, pitcher Darren McCaughan, outfielder Marcus Wilson, and pitcher Ryan Weber were also sent to Triple-A. Long Jr. and Weber have both elected free agency. It's been a tough road for Long Jr., who has had each of the last two seasons end with shin issues. There's some power and speed upside, but it's hard to imagine Long Jr. being a factor for fantasy managers entering 2022 no matter where he ends up.
