3 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Brent Rooker was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul Friday. Rooker will replace Nelson Cruz, who was traded to the Rays, on the 26-man roster. The 26-year-old outfielder has been a strong contributor for the Saints this season, slashing .239/.362/.546 with 19 homers, 48 RBI, and 39 runs scored in 61 games. Rooker was up with the Twins for a brief stint earlier this season but struggled to make contact, striking out 13 times in 29 at-bats. He figures to see playing time at one of the corner outfield spots but isn't worth rostering at this point.--Tim Capurso
