Brandon Belt Will Start Running This Weekend
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (knee) will start running the bases over the weekend. He continues to progress with baseball activities, and the plan is for Belt to run the bases over the weekend. The 33-year-old suffered "minimal structural damage" in his right knee and chose to rehab his injured knee instead of undergoing surgery. He will continue to ramp up his baseball activity but currently has no timetable for a return. Belt slashed .253/.363/.512 with 11 home runs, 28 RBI, 30 runs scored, and three stolen bases across 201 plate appearances in 2021. Fantasy managers in deep-league formats should continue to stash the veteran if they can. LaMonte Wade has been leading off and handling first base duties while Belt is sidelined.
