Gary Sanchez Absent From Thursday's Lineup
3 years agoNew York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez is not in the lineup for Thursday's series opener against the Boston Red Sox. Sanchez was feeling a bit sore following Wednesday night's game, per manager Aaron Boone, who thought about slotting him in as the designated hitter but ultimately sat him out. Boone did say that Sanchez will catch Gerrit Cole on Friday, a pleasant surprise given that Kyle Higashioka is usually Cole's personal catcher- though the latter is on the COVID injured list. Rob Brantly will get the start behind the plate Thursday and bat sixth against Red Sox righty Tanner Houck. Brantly is off the fantasy radar as he owns just seven homers and a .623 OPS in 436 career plate appearances.
