Nick Castellanos Could Miss A Couple Weeks
3 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Castellanos (wrist) could be out for a couple of weeks with a right wrist microfracture. Castellanos has been out since last Friday after he was hit by a pitch on his right wrist. Initial X-rays didn't reveal any break or fracture, but a CT scan taken on Wednesday revealed the microfracture. Expect Castellanos to be put on the injured list, likely on Friday, and fantasy managers will have to replace him for at least the next couple of weeks. It's a tough blow for the Reds and fantasy managers, as the 29-year-old has been great in 2021, slashing .329/.383/.582 with 18 homers, 59 runs, 59 RBI and two steals in 337 at-bats. Until Nick Senzel (knee) is able to return next month, Aristides Aquino and Shogo Akiyama should share time in the outfield with Castellanos on the shelf. Aquino is the more attractive fantasy asset in deeper leagues because of his power.
