Cleveland Indians outfielder Bradley Zimmer is leading off for the third time in four games Wednesday night against right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. and the Houston Astros. This may be a new look for the Tribe moving forward, as Zimmer is 7-for-21 with two home runs since the All-Star break. Cesar Hernandez will once again drop down to the third spot to make way for Zimmer. Because of the move to leadoff, Zimmer is a more attractive fantasy asset in DFS against McCullers, although he has allowed just a .179 batting average against and a 2.93 ERA at home this season.--Kipp Heisterman - RotoBaller

Free-agent left-handed-hitting outfielder Bradley Zimmer reached a minor-league deal with the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday that includes an invitation to major-league spring training, according to a source. The Rockies have been looking for a left-handed hitter who can play all three outfield spots and can spell Brenton Doyle in center field. Zimmer didn't play at all in the big leagues last year, instead spending time at the Triple-A level with both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox, hitting a combined .210/.326/.346 with eight home runs, 32 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 82 minor-league contests. The 31-year-old former first-rounder has spent six years in the big leagues with three different teams and has hit just .213 (183-for-859) with 21 homers, 91 RBI and 42 stolen bases in 372 career games. At best, he'll be a reserve outfielder for Colorado in 2024.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Los Angeles Dodgers signed free-agent outfielder Bradley Zimmer to a minor-league deal on Saturday, according to a source. The 30-year-old center fielder has seen big-league action with the Cleveland Guardians, Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies over the last six seasons. In 2022, he spent time with the Blue Jays and Phillies, hitting just .124/.207/.229 with two home runs, five RBI, 18 runs scored and three stolen bases in 117 plate appearances and 109 games. The majority of it (100 games) came with Toronto. Zimmer will be fighting for a roster spot out of spring training and will represent left-handed-hitting outfield depth for the Blue. In his six big-league campaigns, Zimmer has slashed .213/.298/.333 with a .631 OPS, 21 home runs, 91 RBI, 121 runs and 42 stolen bases in 372 games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Toronto Blue Jays claimed outfielder Bradley Zimmer off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday. The former top prospect spent some time with the Phillies before getting cut by the team. Zimmer will now return to Toronto and serve as depth in the outfield after playing for them earlier this year. The 29-year-old will report to Triple-A, but he is expected to join the big-league club shortly. There is almost no fantasy value here with Zimmer, so fantasy managers can ignore this news in mixed leagues.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Bradley Zimmer has been activated ahead of Sunday's game against the Texas Rangers. Zimmer was acquired by the Jays earlier in the week in a trade that sent right-hander Anthony Castro to the Cleveland Guardians. The 29-year-old outfielder was a former 1st round pick, but hasn't panned out in the big leagues. He is expected to get occasional starts against right-handed pitching. Zimmer isn't expected to do enough at the plate to warrant rostering. Infielder Gosuke Katoh has been optioned to the minors to make room for Zimmer on the roster.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
