Bailey Ober Falls Just Shy Of Quality Start
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober didn't factor into the decision but still put together an effective outing in Tuesday's loss to the White Sox. Ober pitched five innings, allowing four runs- three earned- on five hits while walking one. He struck out four batters and earned a strong 32 percent CSW, called strikes plus whiffs. Ober fell just short of the quality start, but this was an outing to be proud of, as his fastball-changeup combo was excellent, with each offering netting a whiff rate above 30 percent. Ober has done enough in nine starts to prove he's worthy of a rotation spot in 2022 but isn't pitching deep enough into games to be a factor in fantasy leagues this season.
