Chase De Jong Lands On Injured List With Knee Injury
3 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Chase De Jong (knee) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with left knee inflammation, according to Jake Crouse of MLB.com. De Jong was hit in the knee by a line drive during Monday's game, but was able to remain in the game and complete five full innings against Arizona. He hasn't been particularly useful in fantasy this year, as he's 1-4 with a 5.77 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 43 2/3 innings of work. Along with this move, the Pirates recalled reliever Nick Mears and starting pitcher Max Kranick. The Pirates have not made it official yet, but it seems like Kranick could move into the rotation while De Jong is out.
